General Clinical Research Center, Neuroimaging Core
Neuroimaging Core Application Procedures & Documents
How To Apply
The GCRC would like to make the application process as simple as possible. Full instructions can be viewed at the main GCRC Application Page. To request support from the Neuroimaging Core, the GCRC application should also include the Neuroimaging Research Resources Appendix found on the same page.
The Neuroimaging Core provides support in the design, performance, analysis, and publication of nervous system imaging for General Clinical Research Center investigations. This support is for a range of methods, such as computed tomography (CT) scanning; transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS); magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); positron emission tomography (PET); and other methods. Contact the Neuroimaging Core Director, Dr. Steve Cramer for more information regarding study design and specific details.
- Also note: to perform neuroimaging at UCI, one must submit paperwork to the Research Imaging Center (RIC). RIC should be consulted well ahead of the start date of any project intending to use its facilities, so as to ensure that the proposed methods are technically appropriate and available. To request access to these facilities for a specific study, please complete the application form and submit to the RIC administrator, Dr. Hon Yu.
- MRI scanner schedules can be viewed for the 1.5T scanner and 4.0T scanner.
- In addition, all research personnel involved will be responsible for completing the UCI Research and Graduate Studies Human Subjects Tutorial and the HIPAA Tutorial (when applicable). This must be completed by all research personnel prior to the study's activation (first patient's first visit). To fulfill this NIH and institutional requirement, go to http://tutorials.rgs.uci.edu/ and register using your UCInetID prior to completing the tutorial(s). Once you have completed the tutorial, the program will automatically e-mail you confirmation at your UCI e-mail address.
