Pediatric Growth Factor and Cytokine Laboratory

- The laboratory is located in the third floor of the Edward Shanbron Building (bldg 55)- laboratory for the study of blood and natural products at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
- Laboratory purpose:
- Our purpose is to provide a State of the art Growth Factor and Cytokine resource laboratory for Basic and Clinical Scientists. Our core laboratory has extensive experience with both in vivo and in vitro studies.
- Laboratory capabilities:
- The laboratory contains state of the art equipment and research space for conducting Cytokine, Growth Factor, Molecular and Biological studies. General techniques include growth factor and cytokine assays, tissue culture, transfection (by Lipid & electroporation), thermal cycling, Northern, Western and Southern blots, Dnase I Footprint assay, EMSA, and ELISA’s, MultiPlex ELISA, FACS, RNA/DAN/Protein isolation and Gene Chip preparation.
- User fees and procedures:
- Use of this Core facility is open to all members of the Center for Study of Health Effects of Exercise in Children, as well as other faculty in the institution and.
