Mission Statement

The Applied Physiology-Human Performance Lab (AP-HPL) is one of seven funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Center for Research Resources (NCRR).  The facility is a 450 sq ft site in the GCRC at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, Ca.  The primary aim of the AP-HPL is to provide testing support to GCRC investigators and to promote innovative and novel applications of human performance technologies.  The laboratory has state of the art equipment designed to facilitate exercise components for research.  Although, the primary intentions of the SHPL are to implement exercise related research, the facility has the capacity to perform extensive pulmonary testing and resting energy expenditures.
