Human Performance Lab

The primary aim of the SHPL is to provide testing support to GCRC investigators and to promote innovative and novel applications of human performance technologies. The laboratory has state of the art equipment designed to facilitate exercise components for research. Although, the primary intentions of the SHPL are to implement exercise related research, the facility has the capacity to perform extensive pulmonary testing and resting energy expenditures.

Role and Responsibilities

Vince Caiozzo has achieved a Ph.D. in Developmental and Cell Biology from UCI, a M.S. degree in Kinesiology from UCLA, and a B.A. degree in Physical Education from CSULB. Vince maintains an appointment with the Department of Orthopedics with a joint appointment with the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. Vince is an NIH funded RO1 investigator. Currently his research with the GCRC and the AP-HPL is learning The Effects of Microgravity on Various Physiological Systems.
